PINK RIVER DOLPHINS

What you need to know about Pink River Dolphins

Only habitats in freshwater are home to the Amazon river dolphin, also known as the pink river dolphin or boto. In large portions of Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru, and Venezuela’s Amazon and Orinoco river basins, it can be found. With a population estimated in the tens of thousands, it is a relatively common freshwater cetacean. It is nonetheless categorized as vulnerable in some regions because of dams that threaten and fragment some populations as well as other dangers like contamination of rivers and lakes.
