What you need to know about Yellow Billed Jacamars
The yellow-billed jacamara (Galbula albirostris), also known as the yellow-billed jacamar (in Ecuador) is a species of piciform bird of the family Galbulidae. It is native to the Amazon basin and the Guiana Shield in South America. Its natural habitat is lowland tropical rainforests, up to 800 m altitude. It prefers forest clearings and gallery forests. It lives in the lower stratum of the forest. It feeds mainly on insects, which it searches for by looking up and captures in flight. It also feeds on insects. It nests in galleries left in the trunks of trees by termites or anthills, at a height of 1.5 to 3 m. The female lays 2 eggs that are incubated by the pair.
