THU Black Turtle Cove
FRI Darwin Bay & Barranco
SAT Sullivan Bay & Bartolome: Bartolome
SUN Chinese Hat & Mosquera
MON Charles Darwin Station
(5 days A)
Day 1: When you arrive at Baltra Island’s airport, you will be moved to the Alya Catamaran in the bay. Our first stop after lunch is at Black Turtle CoveĀ Return to Alya’s Catamaran for dinner. This spot is a tranquil cove surrounded by mangroves on Santa Cruz’s north coast. Around Black Turtle Cove, there are three varieties of mangroves: red, white, and black. The mangrove habitat is critical for many marine species in Galapagos because it serves as a safe haven for small and fragile organisms as well as a nest for newborn sharks, protecting them from harmful predators. To prevent disturbing animals, Galapagos National Park regulations mandate that the pangas’ engines be switched off when they approach the cove.
Day 2: First visit on this day is Darwin Bay. The seas of Darwin Island are frequently home to large schools of hammerhead sharks. Considered a āmarine wonderlandā, Darwinās Island is perfect for diving. Among the animals you can run across when diving here are hammerhead sharks, whale sharks, rays, green turtles, and a variety of tropical reef fish. Then, there’s a hike on Prince Philipās Steps. Head to the cruise for dinner at the end of the day.
Day 3: The day begins at Sullivan Bay. Sullivan Bay is quite different from other places in GalĆ”pagos. Here, black lava fields will be next to you. On this Bay, there are little pioneer plants sprouting from lava fissures and lava lizards darting about your feet. Small lava cookers that resemble tiny volcanoes are also available. In the afternoon, head to Bartolome Island. You can visit Playa Dorada, Playa Norte and Playa Sur de Bartholomew Island and admire its marine life. Here you can also appreciate the Twin Bays. North Beach is an excellent place to swim in and practice marine sports such as snorkeling, while South Beach is the perfect place to walk and explore. Then head to the ship for dinner.Ā
Ā Day 4: Visit all of Santiago Island’s beautiful landscapes. This visit offers a fantastic chance for geological features such as lava tubes and lava flows to be interpreted. The trail is 700 meters round trip and takes no more than 30 minutes to complete. We’ll go to Mosquera after lunch. This islet is situated between Baltra and North Seymour Islands. The largest sea lion colony can be found here, and several bird species can also be seen. Take advantage of the white sand beach. Return to Alya’s cruise for dinner.
Day 5: After breakfast, we will go to Charles Darwin Station, which is located in Santa Cruz Island’s main port; we will catch a private bus to the breeding center, in which we will observe tortoises and land iguanas in isolation. This is the primary breeding place on the islands. Then, transfer to the airport.
MON Highlands
TUE Moreno Point & Elizabeth Bay
WED Urbina Bay & Fernandina: Espinoza Point
THU Tagus Cove & Vicente Roca Point
FRI Espumilla Beach & Egas Port
SAT Bachas Beach
(6 days B)
Day 1: Right after lunch, we will travel to the Highlands of Santa Cruz to climb and see giant tortoises in their native environment, a natural landscape. We recommend wearing sports shoes, long pants, a raincoat, a hat, and sunscreen for this visit. Return your attention to Alya.
Day 2: Visit to Moreno Point. Moreno Point offers a series of activities that visitors will enjoy. You can go through tide pools and mangroves, a moderate land route crosses lava. With flamingos, pelicans, several types of herons, and other birds, this region is well known for bird viewing. Along with unique species, tide pools frequently include sally lightfoot crabs, marine turtles, and reef sharks. This hike is about a 1.2 mile but be sure to enjoy every second of it. Lunch. Visit Elizabeth Bay and then head to dinner on the cruise.Ā
Day 3: Visit to Urbina Bay and Espinoza Point. Here, one may observe both the raging and quivering āAāasā lava as well as the gentle and flowing Pahoehoe lava flows. One of Punta Espinoza highlights is the vast sea iguana population. The only species of iguana that can swim is a cold-blooded reptile. To eat the algae that grows on rocks, they dive. After coming back from the cold waters they gather together to get some warmth. Passing through the path of marine iguanas, you will also get to see some sea lions and penguins feeding and playing around. Dinner.
Day 4: The day will begin with a tour on Tagus Cove. The Tagus was apprehended here to store enormous tortoises as fresh meat for its upcoming voyage. Some boats take a dismal panga trip to observe the local animals. As well as several other seabird species, sightings of GalĆ”pagos penguins and flightless cormorants are frequent. Lunch and then head to Vicente Roca Point. This dive is a wall dive with lots of coral-covered crevices to search for underwater life. Typically, currents are weak and visibility is good. This stunning site is perfect for snorkeling which you can only get access by boats since there is no place for landing. Dinner.Ā
Day 5: Trip to Espumilla Beach. The Espumilla Beach, located at the northernmost tip of Buccaneer Cove, is a popular breeding ground for sea turtles. The only species that breed and lay eggs in the GalĆ”pagos Marina Reserve are green sea turtles. Every year, people flock to this white coral beach in January. It’s unusual to see them when they put eggs up at night to avoid predators. Tourists may see their aletas’ huellas from the sea, as well as the breeding grounds excavated in the dunes. Lunch and then, trip to Egas Port. Dinner
Day 6: Visit to Bachas Beach. Today, visitors may see the rusted sides of the barge jutting out from beneath the sand. Las Bachas is a beautiful swimming beach where guests may swim among marine iguanas, sea lions, and reef sharks. After this adventure, return to the mainland.Ā
SAT Seymour
SUN Plazas: South Plazas & Santa Fe
MON San Cristobal: Interpretation Center / Kicked Rock & Lobos Island
TUE EspaƱola: Gardner Bay & Suarez Point
WED Floreana: Cormorant Point/Devilās Crown & Alieri Hill
THU Santa Cruz: Highland
(6 days C)
Day 1: When you arrive at Baltra Island’s airport, you will be moved to the Alya Catamaran in the bay. Our first stop after lunch will be at Seymour.Ā On this island, marine fossil records going all the way back to the Pleistocene epoch were discovered. e.Ā North Seymour has dense vegetation and is home to nesting Galapagos Real Frigates. Return to Alya’s catamaran for dinner.
Day 2: First visit of the day, South Plaza. South Plaza is a great place for hiking and snorkeling. A little after the landing, visitors may encounter a Sea Lion colony laying on the beach as well as Marine Iguanas that usually are expelling salt water out from their noses. In order to reach the plateau of the cliffs, the route continues up a gradual incline. Then, weāll visit Santa Fe. Santa Fe has room for many activities but only one visitor site and two hiking paths are present. Barrington Bay’s calm waters are also suitable for kayaking and snorkeling, and there are three diving sites there as well. Head back to the ship for dinner.
Day 3: On this day, youāll visit the Interpretation Center. A boardwalk leads to the San CristĆ³bal Interpretation Center, which is located north of the city. Here, visitors will get the chance to know plenty of information about GalĆ”pagos story and habitats. A journey’s context is provided by educational displays that describe the archipelago’s natural and human history. Then, weāll head to Kicker Rock to snorkel. After that first adventure, youāll head to Lobos Island for panga rides, snorkel or swimming. Return to Alyaās Catamaran for dinner.
Day 4: Visit to Gardner Bay. In there you can not only walk around lazy sea lions but you can also lay in the sand with them and take a nap! Marine Iguanas, Blue-Footed Boobies, Sally’s Light-Footed Crabs, and wading birds like Turnstones and Wandering Stilts are possible additional beach attractions. Undoubtedly, water is too enticing to refuse. One of the greatest locations in the Galapagos to swim with curious sea lions is here. It’s also an excellent place to go snorkeling.
Day 5: On this day, weāll visit Cormorant Point in the morning. In the afternoon, weāll head to Devilās Crown. Perfect place to practice snorkeling. The interior is sandy and protected from the waves, nonetheless, visitors should be careful because of its strong sea currents. Devil’s Crown is a semi-submerged volcanic crater. There are various tunnels under the sea that may be investigated. Sea turtles, a variety of colorful fish, and occasionally even sharks like HammerHead Shark may be spotted in the area. Return to Alya for dinner onboard.
Day 6: Last visit to incredible beaches and spots for wildlife adventures. Then, head to the airport.Ā
