Day 1 Transport from Quito to Papallacta hot springs with time to take a relaxing soak. Then head to Punta Ahuano where we board a 15-min canoe to Casa del Suizo. Free time to settle-in & enjoy sunset from the pool with a welcome cocktail.
Day 2 Morning trek through the forest to observe species of flora and fauna, & learn about medicinal plants. Next, learn how to build a raft from balsa logs, and use it to float back down-river to the lodge. In the afternoon we trek on a forested island (1 hour), before visiting a butterfly house.
Day 3 Early departure for the journey back to Quito through the mountain landscape, with box lunch to enjoy along the way.

Day 1: Private transportation will take you from Quito to the first destination, Papallacta, which is well-known for its host springs. You will continue your journey to the Amazonic region of the nation following lunch as you marvel at the incredible change in topography between the highlands and the region. The journey ends in Punta Ahuano, a small port city on the Napo River, where the canoes will be waiting to take you to Casa del Suizo. If you arrive on schedule, the staff will greet you and provide you with a welcome drink.
Day 2: A leisurely breakfast gets the day started. After that, you’ll begin with a stroll through primary and secondary forests where you can spot various bird and insect species. The opportunity to witness a balsa’s construction will then present itself. After finishing this activity, you’ll head back to Casa del Suizo for lunch before continuing on to La Isla, where you’ll spend an hour walking around a fluvial island and observing a wide range of plants and insects. You will visit the mariposario (Butterfly House) later today to witness the amazing butterfly life cycles.
Day 3: After breakfast, you’ll check out and board the canoe to head back to Punta Ahuano before boarding a bus to return to Quito. The bus will stop halfway to serve a box lunch.

Day 2 Early navigation down river to Cosano, for a trekking activity through primary rainforest, looking out for tropical birds. Next, visit the AmaZOOnico rescue and rehabilitation center to see various rescued animals such as Coati, Tapir, Monkeys & Snakes. In the afternoon, we visit the village of Ahuano to learn about local Kichwa customs and traditions such as cleansing ceremony and blow-gun shooting.

You will continue your journey to the country’s Amazonic region after lunch while marveling at the breathtaking change in topography between the highlands and the region. The journey ends in Punta Ahuano, a small port city on the Napo River.
Day 2: After breakfast, you’ll board a canoe and travel down the Napo River to Cosano, where you’ll spend the next two hours hiking through a primary forest and taking in the local flora and fauna. You will go to AmaZOOnico, a sanctuary for animals from the rainforest, in the afternoon. Tapirs, several types of monkeys, snakes, and numerous bird species are all visible. After this activity, you will return to Casa del Suizo for lunch before traveling to Ahuano town to learn about the customs and culture of the Kichwa people.
