Mosquera Islet

What you need to know about Mosquera Islet, Galápagos

Mosquera is known for being a diving point and islet in Galápagos. As many islets are, this one was also formed because of a volcanic uprising. Killer whales, sometimes known as orcas, have occasionally been spotted in the seas around Mosquera Island. They were presumably drawn to the area by the enormous population of Galápagos sea lions that they feed on. The Islet has a variety of coral fish and invertebrates such as white tip reef sharks, barracudas, sting rays, eagle rays and sea lions.
