Galápagos Penguins are one of the most famous residents on this island. The Galápagos penguin is most closely related to the burrowing African and Humboldt penguins. The Galápagos Penguins nest in cracks and caves discovered amid the coastal lava fields since there is no soft peat soil to burrow on the archipelago’s coasts. Underwater, they are the best swimmers which is the reason they pass the speed of 20mph to look for other species to feed from.
Interesting facts
Penguins, with their strong tiny bodies and determined, waddling gait, are identifiable on land.
Galápagos Penguins may easily overheat, therefore they seek shelter, stand, and pant to stay cool.
The number of the Galápagos Penguin is the smallest of any penguin species.
