What you need to know about the Green Turtle
The Galápagos Green Turtles are known for being one of the most famous animals in the archipiélago and also are rarely found in any other places around the world. These creatures are a gorgeous and graceful sight in the water, gliding slowly across the pristine waters. The Galápagos Green Turtle, on the other hand, is a particularly powerful swimmer, capable of traveling vast distances at rates of 30 mph or more. Adults consume mostly vegetables, while youngsters are more opportunistic and will eat almost everything! The largest specimens may weigh more than 280lb (130kg). As well as other animals, humans are their first threat. They have been intensively targeted for their shells and flesh, and have drowned as a result of being ensnared in fishing nets.
