The Galápagos Martin is a little blue and black bird known for being the only resident member of the swallow family in the entire Island. The Martin has an amazing capacity to feed on fast-flying insects that it catches while flying. It is typically simpler to detect the male birds during feeding times since they are notably more striking than their female counterparts. Look for Martin’s fascinating array of sounds, which range from warblings to twittering to high-pitched warnings. Unfortunately, the Martin has been designated as endangered, with a population of little more than 500 birds. Martins may be found in both the highlands and along the shore. On Isabela island, the greatest places to watch these birds are Tagus Cove, Punta Moreno, and Sierra Negra volcano.
